About

I have been pouring my heart and soul onto the page for as long as I can remember. I’ve kept journals since I was six years old. I have chronicled my life in over 30 notebooks, hundreds of Word docs, and dozens of blog posts. I have written stories and poems. I have jotted down notes and lyrics. Part of me is afraid of forgetting. Or maybe being forgotten. I need a record that I existed.

But I also truly believe that in all of my experiences, I have something to offer the world.

This site is my story. The story of my journey to becoming who I am and where I’ll go from here.

My name is Meg.

And I believe that what you do and who you are are not the same things. So I will not start with the work I do to pay the bills.

I live in Pittsburgh, where I was born and raised just 10 miles north of the city. I left to go to college in Delaware, but Pittsburgh is a part of me, so I came back. I now live just minutes away from the house where I grew up, with my husband, my daughter, and my greyhound.

We live a simple, relaxed life right now. We take the dog for walks, we watch Netflix, and we love having friends over for drinks and game nights. I am a voracious reader, and though I believe that term is over-used amongst voracious readers, there is really no other accurate way to describe this hobby of mine. I write about the books I read on my first blog, Measure with Coffee Spoons.

I love feeling strong and fit and healthy. I was a competitive swimmer from age 9 to 21, and after a seven year hiatus, I have returned to the pool and joined a master’s swim team. It was the best decision I’ve made in recent years. I also enjoy working out, going on hikes, and playing tennis.

I love to travel. My husband I keep track of the places we’ve been on a push-pin map in our office. There are far too few pins in the map, but we’re getting there. Our most recent trip was to London, Scotland, Wales, and Paris in April 2019. Next up, who knows!?

During the day, I work as a Senior Account Executive at a marketing agency here in Pittsburgh. I lead my clients’ branding and advertising projects, developing strategy, coordinating the team, and coming up with creative new ideas. I enjoy my job, my company, and the people I work with. I love that every day is different. I am challenged intellectually and creatively. I am respected as an employee and a leader within my team. In my career, in my role, I get to have a big impact on not just one company, but dozens. This is the dream, right?

I believe there is a lot more to life than working to pay the bills, following the rules, and checking off the boxes in life.

This blog is about exploring what it really means to live a life that you are fiercely passionate about. I want to unpack the spaces in our life where we truly find joy and meaning. I want to show the world what it means to live a fiercely, beautiful life.
